Habitat Building Tips & Best Practices

  • Start with simple habitats like Tall Grass (#001) which only needs 4 Tall Grass items — this attracts Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.
  • Items marked "(any)" give you flexibility — any variant of that furniture or terrain type will work.
  • Build habitats that attract Pokemon with useful specialties first: Scyther (Chop for lumber) and Drifloon (Fly for Dream Islands).
  • Once you befriend a Pokemon, move it to a house to free up the habitat for reuse. Use the Housing Planner for optimization.
  • Some Pokemon only appear at certain times of day or weather conditions — check the spawn conditions before waiting around.
  • Plated Food habitats require any edible item placed on a plate. Craft plates at the Workbench.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a habitat in Pokemon Pokopia?

A habitat is a specific arrangement of terrain, furniture, and items that attracts a particular Pokemon. Each habitat has unique build requirements — place the correct items in your world and a Pokemon will visit.

How many habitats are there in Pokopia?

There are over 212 habitats in the main game, plus additional event-exclusive habitats. Each one attracts different Pokemon with different time-of-day and weather requirements.

Can I build the same habitat twice?

Yes! You can build duplicate habitats to attract the same Pokemon species again. However, you can only befriend one of each species. Building duplicates is useful for housing optimization.

What does "(any)" mean in habitat requirements?

When a requirement says something like "Seat (any)" or "Tree (any)", it means any variant of that item category works. For example, any type of chair or bench counts as a "Seat".
